I should rephrase, it's not that a full load "can't be done", but it's really unwise to take on 7 passengers in the Hummingbird and try to fly like you would with 2 passengers. In both Hummingbird and RHS Littlebird, I've experienced different versions of a full load of passengers, and I do believe that effect to be cause by passenger loadout weights. Chopper full of noobs is easier to fly than one full of totally kitted out level 100s with ammo and explosive perks. It really does get so bad with some fully-kitted crews that, especially in the RHS Littlebird, the helicopter can not fly out of ground effect or really operate safely at all. That's a cool affect to have in the game, but it needs to be balanced with the ability for the pilot to choose how much fuel to take on. I think that's a very logical and probably easy addition to the game. It would add a very interesting dynamic in that you could choose to go high performance mode at the expense of loiter time. Very cool.

Clearly they are not going to disable it. The AFM glitches I've been posting may have something to do with a vanilla arma AFM glitch, but I think there is some weird way that AFM manifests itself in KOTH. I don't know how to explain it, other than to say that KOTH seems to not handle AFM well. I don't have a ton of time flying an AFM hummingbird in other game modes, so tough to say to what extent this is KOTH only or if it happens anywhere, and would therefore be left up to BI to fix.

So obviously I can avoid this by not propping my heli up on the tail rotor guard. The helicopter is vulnerable while propped up, but not so much when the skids are on the ground. However, in RHS, in the Russian Mi-8, the same glitch happens any time someone clips you hard enough with their gun, no matter what you are doing. But in the Mi-8 it doesn't just start to flip over, it instantly blows up. RHS seems to magnify all AFM glitches.
another AFM glitch. Gun clipping through heli...
this video shows an instance of the invincibility glitch. the timing has to be within a certain ~3 second window with respect to the 10 seconds remaining until invincibility message.

Also, there are numerous other AFM bugs, some of which may be related to the infamous AFM desync bug. Sometimes the helicopter flips over for no reason. I actually think getting "Objective Under Control" can make an AFM heli lurch forward if you are in the final stages of a landing. These bugs are so infuriating.
